World Cup Cricket at the St Lucia Cricket Grounds
St Lucia cricket stadium is called the Beausejour cricket grounds which will now be recognized world wide since it has been awarded the blue match package with four teams including England which is St Lucia's second largest contributor to tourist arrival on the Island. St Lucia was one in eight countries chosen to host several of those matches. There were 51 matches featuring 16 world cup nations scheduled to begin in April 2007.

The government of St Lucia offered incentives to investors who wanted to increase room capacity in time for 2007 Cricket world cup. The then tourism minister, Phillip J Pierre predicted that such a prestigious event would have done wonders for the tourism sector. The package that St Lucia has won makes Beausejour a hub for cricket world cup St Lucia 2007. St Lucia cricket grounds is situated at an ideal location for the hosting of such an event, with most of the Island's infrastructure towards the north. Some of those include fitness centers, 18 hole golf course, tennis, swimming facilities, even some of the best beaches are in close proximity to the Beausejour cricket grounds.
