Getting around St Lucia is simple and easy as long as you know a few details about the Island. We will provide you with the information you need along with St Lucia travel and safety tips to ensure that you get the most out of your vacation in St Lucia.

You many choose various means of transportation to get to your destinations.
I would first recommend that you get a St Lucia map to familiarize yourself with the districts and different parts of St Lucia and how to get to them. You may find one at an online book store or purchase one at a book store in St Lucia.
Not having a map could get you lost especially if you plan on hiring your own vehicle to travel about. Although you can probably ask people you meet for directions, it's always better to have the map as surety.
I have found that several of the hotels here have very good island maps, so you may be lucky enough to get one for free, but I would not depend on that.
That may be one of the questions you should ask your agent when you are booking your hotel or Villa.
There are five ways to get around St Lucia
Before you start exploring and discovering the Island, I have out together some safety tips and information that would help you stay out of harms way.
#1) Rent A Car
If you plan to rent your own vehicle then getting a St Lucian map is a must. The roads down here are winy and have several junctions so a map would be a great asset in helping you to eliminate the possibilities of going to the wrong place.
#2) Hire A Taxi
If you are coming to St Lucia for the first time, I recommend using a St Lucia taxi instead because the taxi drivers here are quite knowledgeable and know their way around the Island. It might also be a good idea to get one because they would help you find places in St Lucia that you may not find on your own.
#3) Mini Bus
Traveling by mini bus is by far the cheapest way when getting around St Lucia. The only problem you may have is it lacks the convenience that the other methods of transportation provide. If you know where you are going, you can save a great deal and use that money for something else.
#4) Travel By Helicopter
A helicopter shuttle service may be on your agenda but you can only travel from airport to airport and Soufriere. That might come in handy if you want and aerial view of St Lucia or if you do not want to travel by car or bus. But I would recommend that you make your reservations before hand.
#5) Boat Tours
Boat tours are are fun and exciting way to explore St Lucia. Go whale watching, do some deep sea fishing, take a sunset cruise, have some fun scuba diving or snorkeling on a beach or maybe you just wanna take a ride to get to various parts of the Island. Whichever you choose, I guarantee that you'll have lots of fun.
