Jounen Kweyol 2009

Jounen Kweyol 2009

Jounen Kweyol 2009

I found Jounen Kweyol 2009 to be a huge success. I thought I would have gone to only Soufriere and Vieux Fort but I couldn't resist the urge to go to Bogius. So I went to all the three communities that were hosting it and I really had fun.

There was so much food there. If you wanted to sample the various local dishes, there were so many, you would not be able to try all.

I saw crab calallo, Bweego, Manicou, Smoke herring, green fig and salt fish, cow heel soup. Those are just a few food from all what that was there.

The only thing I saw the lack of was what the old people used to do before. The only place I saw some of that happening was in Soufriere where I saw bamboo bursting and also the way wood used to be cut before.

Above all, it was great to be there and I am looking forward to next year.
