St Lucia Icing Recipe

Hi,i will like to know how you get the icing you put on the cakes like in the supermarket it stays so hard and its so good!
I'm making a birthday cake for my father and I'm making a St Lucian black fruit cake for him!!yes its so yummy!!!

well i was wondering what icing recipe you use to decorate your cake with. Please help this is very urgent and i need that Lucian icing recipe because i will live the cake out all night. I can make icing, i normally make butter-cream but it becomes soft after a time and run down the cake.
