St. Lucia Jazz-where to stay
by: Anonymous

Hello to the ladies from DC. I'm from Jersey my girlfriend and I went to the Jazz Fest a few years ago and had an awesome time. We stayed at the Windjammer Landing and was very pleased with our accomodations. I've been to Saint Lucia on a couple of other occasions and stayed with friends I met before. So any of the 4 or 5 star hotels in Gros Islet or Rodney Bay area will work. I am going with a group of friends(mature women 40's/50's) this year and we are renting a villa at Cap Estate, and we're really looking forward to that. You will have a great time. Lots of things to do, great people and really good food! Hopefully we'll bump heads.

St Lucia Experience
by: Andy

I have been going to St Lucia for as long as I can remember and I go back year after year, it is fantastic, you do not necessarily have to be staying at the north of the island to enjoy the benefits of the experience but it helps. There are two groups which come over from the UK, London Elite which is headed by Rick and Glenda Clarke and ICE from East London headed by Hector Selector and Gayle.
The first week is non stop partying, pool parties beach parties dress in white party and not one but two catamaran cruises, you have to have alot of stamina and pace yourself.
The second week some go on to Barbados and do it all again and some just stay in St Lucia an chill and see the rest of the island which is breathtaking, there is lots to see and take in all around the island. If you are into all the above or just want to chill, i recommend.

Jazz Festival 2011
by: Anonymous

I will agree with all the previous comments. I attended the very first festival, and attended every year except after I got married 4 years ago. Me and my friends would stay at the Rex, service was great and it was right in the middle of everything. I also stayed at the Windjammer, Sandals and a Wyndham property. The last two years I attended we rented a Villa in Cap Estates which was great experience as well. It is a totally different vibe and not for everybody. My husband and another couple will be going the Villa route again this year.
If you are into excitement, the Rex or Bay Gardens is the way to go.
Get your tickets when you get there! It's not worth it to purchase them ahead of time.

What is the line-up for 2011?
by: Anonymous

My wife and I and my buddy and his wife and son are planning to attend the St. Lucia Jazz Festival. We were informed the La Haut Resort is a good place to stay. We are looking forward to the 2011 festival activities.

Please let me know your opinion of La Haut Resort and any other Hotel/Resort you recommend.

When is the best time to book living accomodations and festival tickets.

Please advise.

You wouldn't regret
by: Anonymous

Jazz festival is a must vacation in St. Lucia. You must stay in the north part of the island. You can try almond smugglers cove, bay garden or St Lucian by rex.you wouldn't regret it. Book early and get your Jazz ticket when you get to St.Lucia.

Fun, Fun, fun

I've been going to the Jazz fest for over 5 years. We always stay at the Rex St Lucian, Gros Islet. Its where all the activities are. i.e beach parties, nightly entertainments and friendly staff(we also had the pleasure of mingling with the West Indies and Zimbabwe cricket teams.

I have been attending the St. Lucia Jazz Festival for the past 18 years and I would suggest you stay in the Gros Islet area which is close to the festival venues and entertainment area. I have stayed at the Bay Gardens Hotel for the past 9 years and have no problems with them.
